Jared Vincent has been teaching piano for over 10 years and has an enduring enthusiasm for working with aspiring musicians. Jared’s musical journey started when he was 8 years old. He began taking piano lessons with locally renowned musician and conductor Don Buxton, who introduced him to Dr. Shinichi Suzuki’s method of music instruction.

Focus, at this age, was difficult for Jared, but the experience would give him a solid foundation. Auspiciously, it also gave him insight that he would eventually use to design music lessons that are effective for the active minds of children. Later, as an early adult, Jared was inspired to revisit his musical interests and decided to return to his childhood teacher, Mr. Buxton.

Under Mr. Buxton’s guidance, Jared studied the Suzuki repertoire and ethos, an experience that would later shape his own teaching philosophy. What sets Mr. Jared apart is his remarkable ability to connect with children. His enthusiasm and positivity inspire their innate ability and fosters a genuine curiosity about music. He has endless confidence in their ability yet challenges them as individuals.

Drawing heavily from Dr. Suzuki’s approach, he teaches students to learn music by ear first, developing strong listening skills, memorization, and musical intuition. At the same time, he carefully builds music literacy, teaching theory in a fun and approachable way helping children understand the laws of music that connect us all, whether we play music or not. Parents often say their children look forward to lessons with Mr. Jared.

He encourages parents to simply ask their child to “play something for me,” turning practice into proud performance. Warm and patient, yet serious when it matters, Jared meets every child exactly where they are which means each lesson is personalized. He recognizes that students have a variety of learning styles and benefit from different approaches, be it structure, creativity or just some extra encouragement.

Outside the studio, Jared is a nature lover and a studious soul with interests in eastern medicine, martial arts and mindfulness. When his day is complete, he enjoys reading, drawing and video games. He brings that same balance of discipline, curiosity, and joy into every lesson he teaches.
